Introducing the Greenhaven Waihi
A two-bedroom 60 square metre minor dwelling.
You asked, and we listened! We’ve had a growing request for a two-bedroom transportable home with all the thoughtful touches and premium finishes found in our larger builds, but that fits within the proposed minor dwelling legislation.
Our Revolution home remains a favourite for good reason, but some clients were looking for a version with a bit more: wool carpet underfoot, Bosch appliances, and elevated detailing.
That’s where the Greenhaven Waihi comes in. It’s still an efficient use of space, transportable, and still unmistakably built with care - just with an added layer of comfort for those who want to take things up a notch.
Why the Greenhaven Waihi was created
The Waihi brings together everything people love about our Greenhaven builds - smart design, efficient construction, and thoughtful material choices - in a beautifully finished compact two-bedroom floorplan.
It’s a home designed for real-life flexibility, future planning, and the changing needs of Kiwi families.
Perfect for retired parents wanting independence, comfort & proximity
With the new minor dwelling legislation, many families are looking to create a separate living space on their existing property - one that allows for privacy while keeping loved ones close.
The Waihi offers:
- A warm, comfortable environment with above-code insulation
- Quality materials and finishes that feel like home from day one
- A more cost-effective option compared to retirement village living
- The peace of mind of being right there when needed
- It’s independence without isolation - a modern solution for multi-generational living.
Ideal for older children saving for their first home
- For adult children working towards home ownership, the Waihi is a practical stepping-stone. With two well-sized bedrooms, a beautifully finished kitchen, and a comfortable living space, it offers independence without the long-term financial pressure of renting elsewhere.
- Families can support their young adults while giving them space to grow, save, and plan for the future.
A smart revenue-generating option for property owners
For those thinking like investors, the Waihi offers strong earning potential:
- Long-term rental
- Short-stay accommodation
- Seasonal or staff housing
- A second income stream on an existing section
It’s a home that can flex with your goals, and because it’s transportable, it remains a movable asset that can adapt with you.
The beauty of a transportable home? Flexibility.
One of the biggest advantages of the Waihi is what happens later. Because it’s fully transportable, your options remain open:
- Move it to a new town
- Relocate it to a lifestyle block
- Turn it into a bach
- Keep it as a standalone asset
- On-sell it if your needs change
- It gives you freedom, not just for now, but for the next chapter too.
Quality you can see - and feel
Premium finishes, warm timber detailing, wool carpet, Bosch appliances, and a beautifully considered layout all reflect Greenhaven’s commitment to building homes that stand the test of time. As Todd, co-owner of Greenhaven Homes, puts it:
“Every Greenhaven home is built with the same care and attention to detail. We only build homes we’d be proud to live in ourselves, and the Waihi is a great example of that commitment.”
